Network Systems Consultant

Griffith based IT firm seeks consultant to support our business clients, WinXP/2000/2003/2008 networks, Linux, troubleshooting and resolution.

 

Position Description

Veritech Corporation is a progressive IT firm specialising in Network Consultancy and network support to Corporate customers. 

We are based in Griffith NSW. Our customer base consists of medium/large business, Councils and Schools.

 

This position entails support for business networks, Internet integration and support, troubleshooting and problem resolution for networks. Technologies include all Windows servers and workstations, MS-Office, Linux, firewalls/routers and internet technologies, and e-Mail servers. Some travel and overtime will be required. We conduct warranty support for Dell Computer and other brands. 

 

Applicants should possess:

• Excellent english language spoken and writing skills

• Extensive experience in Windows Servers and network configurations

• Excellent skills in troubleshooting

• Sound communication skills providing phone and face-to-face support

• Ability to work independently

• To be proactive, have ability to plan, prioritise and organise assigned tasks and determine a course of action

• A Driver's license

 

A focus on revenue, but with outstanding quality and attention to detail is a key requirement of this position. The position requires meeting monthly revenue targets. Don't apply if hard work, deadlines and highly-diverse (non-specialised) work frightens you! 

 

Permanent relocation to Griffith is required with this position. Salary is negotiable based on experience and what you can offer our business.

 

Essential skills:

 

• A clear understanding of customer service requirements

• In depth knowledge and troubleshooting skills with PC hardware and related software

• Knowledge of the complexities of network technologies - LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS and

DHCP

• Good knowledge of Internet technologies

• Good organisational abilities and well developed interpersonal and communication skills

• Highly developed analytical skills that will readily enable identification and resolution of problems

• Ability to deal with people at all levels and be effective while working under pressure

• Windows Server 2003-2008 installation and troubleshooting

• Active Directory management

 

 

Desirable skills:

 

• Experience working in a small, privately owned IT support business

• 12 to 18 months practical hands-on industry experience

• Network design experience

• Linux or Unix support and administration

• A tertiary level qualification in IT

• Network router support 

• HTML and web design skills

• Exchange Server 2003-2008 management
